A soft yellow saree, the colour of champak in bloom. Champa, after the flower that scents the courtyards of Indian homes.
A Banarasi organza in soft yellow, scattered with small woven gold buti motifs and finished with a fine zari border. Organza is one of the lightest silk weaves: sheer enough to fold small, structured enough to hold a clean drape. Yellow has long been a colour of celebration in Indian dress, worn during haldi ceremonies and the spring festival of Basant Panchami.
