An iridescent coral silk, the colour of marigolds at festival time. Genda, after the flower garlanded at every Indian doorway.
A Banarasi organza in iridescent coral, the body dyed in a marbled blend of orange and cream so the colour shifts as it folds. Small gold buti motifs are woven all over the silk, finished with a fine zari border. The marigold, or genda, is the flower of every Indian celebration: strung above doorways at weddings, garlanded around shrines, scattered on the threshold for festival days.
