Soft saffron-yellow chiffon with a sequinned border and a sheer fall. Kesari, for the colour of saffron and of long Indian afternoons.
A soft saffron chiffon with a hand-stitched sequinned border. Chiffon is woven from twisted silk yarns, which is what gives it its weightless drape and faintly grainy surface. The sequins along the pallu are sewn by hand, one at a time, in a bead-and-stitch technique that has not changed in a hundred years.
